Folder Castle – Hide And Encrypt Files, Folders, Lock Drives.

Folder Castle is security software which secures your all files and folders with a password, avoiding them from being accessed by unauthorized users. Folder Castle can hide files as well as folders without moving those files and folders to new destination. Folder Castle is software which uses a complex encryption algorithm. It is available for download but as a trial version. In spite of its small size which is only [1,83 MB], this software comes with numerous features. Folder Castle has ability to secure the files by storing those files in an encrypted virtual vault. You have to define a password while installing Folder Castle which will be used later on, for hiding/ restoring the files as well as folders. For launching Folder Castle, the previously set password is required to access the main user interface of Folder Castle.

The Folder Castle Control Center has 3 sections, named as Hidden Objects, Preferences, & Secure Storage.
Hidden Objects section.
This section includes 3 command buttons at the bottom of the window: Add File(s), Add Folder and Remove from List. The very last one is not active and it remains as such until files are added to the box. In order to add files and folders, you need to just drag the files/ folders from Windows Explorer? and then drop them in Folder Castle box.
Preferences section.
In this section you are provided with the option to change the password which has been defined during the installation process of Folder Castle. You will also observe the 3 shortcut keys which are meant to ease the way users can hide/unhide the files as well as folders. The 3rd shortcut key opens the Folder Castle Control Center. For redefining the shortcut keys you have to click on the Manage the Hotkeys button, and then you can redefine them as per your preferences.

The Create Secure Storage section.
In this section you cam create a vault on your hard disk or USB drive? in which you can keep you sensitive information like details of bank accounts, passwords to various accounts and any other type of confidential data which you want to keep in secured place. The security of this vault is ensured by a 256-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) cryptographic algorithm. On clicking the Create Secure Storage button a new popup window gets opened, which will allow you to decide the drive on which the Confidential data will be stored. Moreover this vault can be stored on USB drives too.

Folder Castle has a feature which enables you to operate via shell extensions. The context menu which gets appeared when user right-clicks on any file/folder includes the ?Hide filename.extension? option. For improved flexibility of the software the developer makes available a toolbar which is visible in Windows Explorer.
The Folder Castle toolbar provides users with quick access to the functions of the software and also allows users to hide/ unhide files as well as folders and to open the Preferences window.In order to restore the hidden files/folders, user will have to click on either Unhide button in the Folder Castle toolbar or can opt for Remove from List in the Folder Castle Control Center. Booting in Safe Mode of your operating system does not compromise the functionality of this software. The process automatically appears in Task Manager and it can be terminated on be by user, but the installation folder is blank and there is no entry in the Add or Remove Programs.
